The Dallas Symphony Orchestra continues its tradition of performing in Dallas area parks as part of its Parks Concerts series, stretching from South Dallas campuses to North Dallas venues. Patrons can expect a fun and entertaining night in a relaxed atmosphere that is free and open to the public. The casual and outdoor parks concerts let families enjoy music near their homes and are central to our mission to provide great music to those who live in and around Dallas
Dallas Public Library closes out the Dallas Festival of Books & Ideas with a festival of books, authors and the written word. Listen to writers talk about their work, discover a new author, learn about the publishing process and a Friends of the Dallas Public Library used book sale. Activities for all ages are in store on every floor of the Central Library. Check back for updates!

The Dallas Festival of Books & Ideas, May 28 - June 1, is a city-wide event aimed at energizing the people of Dallas through the power of books and ideas. A partnership between Dallas Public Library, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, The Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Museum of Art, the festival takes place at multiple sites. WNNA Neighborhood Artist- Marilyn Jolly and Friends Art Show
Metalsmith-Susan Sitzes- (small sculpture and jewelry) and another friend who is a printmaker-Virginia Sitzes-and I (small paintings and hand-painted silk scarves) will have work for sale on June 1 from 10:00-4:00 in my studio at 439 N Manus Dr. My studio is located in my backyard. We plan to have some images of the work and a link on the web to see them a little nearer the sale.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announces the annual Parks Concert series. These family-friendly concerts are FREE and open to the public and will be presented in Dallas-area parks stretching from North to South Dallas. Guest Conductor Ruth Reinhardt will lead the DSO in a program featuring light classics, patriotic tunes and other popular fare.
The DSO will welcome two guest soloists at Parks Concerts this year. Miss America 2019 Nia Imani Franklin, a classically trained opera singer and arts advocate, will join the DSO at Kidd Springs Park.
Taste of Dallas, Dallas’ premier summertime food and drink festival, returns for its 33rd year serving up 3 fun-filled days of great #food and #beverages featuring over 200 #chefs, #restaurants, #sponsors, and #exhibitors taking part in dozens of engaging and interactive activations. This #Texas tradition is one of the largest and most anticipated events of the year, showcasing the best of what this larger than life city has to offer!
For 2019, Taste of Dallas will feature Taste of the Neighborhoods presented by Visit Dallas where exhibiting chefs and restaurants will be grouped by geographical area, giving each neighborhood its own unique culinary profile. Neighborhoods include: Bishop Arts District/Oak Cliff, Deep Ellum, Uptown & Harwood, Park Cities, Greenville Ave, Downtown, Knox/Henderson, West Village.
And NEW for 2019….. The Whiskies of the World attraction, where distillers from around the world share their finest spirits and knowledge with whisky enthusiasts. This attraction benefits Helping A Hero and allows attendees to discover The Art of Whisky in the company of connoisseurs and #whisky ambassadors.
On Sunday, Taste of the Neighborhoods features a Sunday Brunch Theme, which includes tasty Bloody Marys and Mimosas.
Come to Oak Cliff Brewing Co. for a fun and art-filled evening with artist Andy Emmons, who will walk the group through creating a shared image in paint. Beer available for purchase, with snacks provided by ENA. All materials, including easels, will be provided. Tickets:elmwoodna.org
