Groceries and Food for Thought

re: Construction of a new Sprouts grocery at Hampton and Fort Worth Avenue.

Sprouts had proposed a design for a new grocery at this location, and was denied, citing non-compliance with City Planning codes.

A Dallas Morning News editorial criticizes the decision:

https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/2022/08/26/southern-dallas-sprouts-grocery-too-suburban-for-city-plan-commission/

A D Magazine column found faults in the Morning News's analysis:

https://www.dmagazine.com/frontburner/2022/09/the-dmn-editorial-board-wants-to-trash-city-planning-rules-to-build-an-upscale-grocery/

And an opinion from Facebook: link

What do you think? Chad West's office has published a survey where you can voice your opinion:

https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/b6d1017bec32453f831ca5f8d6b0d6c5

There are more opinions and discussion of this issue on Facebook and Nextdoor.
